First Clip: The first video that I decided to include in this assignment is a scene from the movie "The Sound of Music". In this scene, main character Marie teaching the Von Trapp children to sing through solfege. In the movie, Maria introduces the children to music as they have never been exposed to music before. I really like Maria's teaching style in how she teaches the children. She made solfege easier to understand by creating a song that is made up of solege in the major scale and things in life that relate to each note. The reason behind in choosing this clip is because it reminds me that when I become a teacher and educator, I will need to change my teaching styles so that I am able to teach, assist and communicate.

The second video that I have included is a documentary of my high school jazz band "St. Anne's Jazz Band" professionally recording one of our repertoire pieces "At Last". My teacher Josh Geddis brought the jazz band to a recording studio to teach the following: time management, responsibility and hard work. All of these characteristics could easily be taught in a class room setting, but I feel that by being able to go out in a real life setting and using these characteristics is more effective way of teaching. As the student being put in that situation changed my learning attitude as I understood that time was money and the longer that we were in the studio, the more money that was being spent. Therefore, I knew I needed to be prepared for the session.
